  Good Time Banjos come standard with Guitar Tuners. Guitar Tuners while functional on a banjo only come on beginner banjos that do not cost that much because it saves the manufacturer, and ultimately the customer money. But not because they work better or are the preferred tuning Pegs for a 5-string banjo. Banjos use Planetary geared pegs called Planet Pegs both for functionality and looks.
  Because of the way a banjo with its round shape balances in your lap it is awkward to tune the 1st and 2nd strings on a banjo with guitar tuners. Looks wise, it makes a huge difference. Planet pegs stick straight back from the banjo peghead so they are not seen from the front of the banjo.
  Nothings says "Beginner Banjo" more than guitar tuners because only lower priced beginner banjos have guitar tuners. Upgrading to the Planet Pegs is a wise investment when you first buy your Good Time Banjo. If you try to do it on your own later, it will cost more and you will be left with little screw holes in the back of your headstock from where the guitar tuning pegs were installed.

  Open Back Banjos

  Open Back Banjos for Bluegrass, Clawhammer, Old Time and Folk Styles

  Featuring Gold Tone and Deering Open Back Banjos
  
  Open-back banjos are normally associated with a popular style of banjo playing called clawhammer. Clawhammer banjo is normally associated with a genre of traditional music that is different from bluegrass that is called Old Time Music, Old Timey, folk or traditional Appalachian music. You can also learn bluegrass on open back banjos but the open back banjos with "scooped necks" are made specifically for clawhammer only.
  
  Open back banjos generally have a mellower tone and weigh less than resonator banjos. The clawhammer models often have what is called a scooped neck which takes out the highest five frets of the banjo neck. This is done to make it possible to play "clawhammer style" closer to the fret board and forward of the pot or round section of the banjo that has the drum head on it.

  Some Books, DVDs, or accessories that are included with the banjos may come separately. Don't be alarmed if one arrives before the other. you will be sent different tracking numbers for any item shipped separately.
  
  Banjo Sales Cancellation Policy
  If it's not a warranty issue and you simply want to return the banjo, I'll gladly refund your money, all that I ask is that I recover the costs I incurred in selling you the banjo. Since Banjo's are shipped free, if a banjo was to be returned for a reason other than a warranty issue, deducted from the refund would be the shipping costs to and from and a $25 banjo set up cost. Any custom options added like 5th string capo spikes or a zero glide nut would not be eligible for refund either.

  We send out tracking emails for banjos and also a separate tracking of there is an item shipped separately from the banjo.

  Gold Tone Music Group has announced a tentative agreement to acquire the well known Ome Banjo Company, maker of high quality banjos for over 50 years.
  

  
  Chuck Ogsbury of Ome and Wayne and Robyn Rogers of Gold Tone have completed talks about the goals each party has for the future of Ome. All agree that primary among these is that Ome remain a banjo brand whose products are to be built in America, with 100% North American parts content. In addition, it is Gold Tone’s intention to maintain Ome’s well known ultra-high build quality and perfect workmanship. Gold Tone managing director Justin Grizzle will spearhead the movement of operations from Boulder to Titusville, FL to facilitate the tightest control possible over the new division’s manufacturing operation. Justin will also supervise overall marketing and online media efforts.

  
  Initial plans for the Ome product line will include continued emphasis on Ome’s well-loved openback banjo offerings, with between four and six of the most popular models to be offered first. Other parts of the Ome range will follow as the facilities are built out and staffed. In addition, current Ome owners whose banjos are still under warranty protection can be assured that their coverage is still in force.

  
  While Gold Tone is renowned for offering instruments with very high value-for-price, they’ve started (with banjos such as the OB-3 “Twanger”, the OB-2 Bowtie and the very successful OB-Béla) to offer instruments aimed at the semi-pro and professional banjoist. With the pending acquisition of Ome Banjos, Gold Tone is proud to offer Ome banjos to further fill those needs, and to have been chosen by Chuck Ogsbury to carry on the legacy of the company he began over fifty years ago.
