The Doc Fossey Banjo Guitar
Broaden Your Musical Horizons
Do you like to jam? Do you enjoy playing with other musicians, or perhaps in a band? Or do you play your musical instruments for personal pleasure and enrichment of your life? I belong among those who play primarily for personal enjoyment, although I do enjoy "jamming" when I get the chance. But I have noticed that when I bring my banjo to a jam session, most of the songs selected by the jam participants are not truly banjo songs, and, consequently,I spend a lot of time sitting quietly without playing, or quietly vamping, or rarely strumming the 5 string in a manner that hopefully does not detract from the music that is being created, The fact of the matter is that the unique sound of the 5 string banjo is not suitable for many genres of music, including many Bluegrass tunes. On the other hand, I've never heard a song selected during a jam session that was unsuitable for the guitar players. If you can't pick it, you can strum along without sounding out-of-place on the guitar.
The solution to this problem is to bring the "doc fossey guitar" whenever you play with others. Play your banjo pieces as you would on a banjo.Play it as a guitar when banjo-style picking is undesirable. Thus, the banjo player can broaden his or her musical horizons with the "doc fossey" 5 string acoustic guitar.
Quality for a Lifetime of Enjoyment
Guitars are ubiquitous in American society. If I had to select a symbol for this country, it would not be a bald eagle (or a turkey, as Benjamin Franklin reportedly wanted). It would be the flat-top acoustic guitar. While for some, their relationship with a guitar was as fleeting as a high school romance. For many, however, the acquisition of their first guitar began a life-long love affair of immense satisfaction. It is the later group that will come to recognize that the money paid for a quality instrument pays dividends to its owner for decades into the future. With this in mind, the "doc fossey guitar" was born.
The "doc fossey guitar" is constructed from solid hardwoods, selected specifically for characteristics favorable to finger picking style players. These handmade guitars exhibit the qualities of workmanship one would expect from the manufacturers of top-end guitars whose names are well known. ( You know who I'm talking about.) We have gone to great lengths to bring to market a guitar that looks great, sounds great, and has playability characteristics (action) that convey to the owner that the "doc fossey" is no ordinary musical instrument. It is a functional work of art that you will be proud to own and play, and to pass on to succeeding generations of musicians.
Like No Other in the World
Have you ever seen an instrument like this? I haven't either. In fact, no one whom I have shown a "doc fossey guitar" has ever seen one like it. It's true that there are "cross-over instruments" on the market. Six string banjos. Crosses between banjos and mandolins etc. But we have yet to see what we have created; a full sized guitar body (small-jumbo size in guitar parlance) with double-Florentine cutouts, and a 5 string banjo style neck, constructed with solid hardwoods. Collectors, take note. The "doc fossey guitar" is destined someday to be a vintage classic. Be among the first to own and enjoy one.
