Gold Tone has done a tremendous job of recreating both the look and sound. I played this new model at it's premier at the 2023 IBMA International Bluegrass Association Trade show. It sounded and looked great. I'm real excited about all Gold Tone is doing now. They have really raised the bar.The double-cut headstock, combined with the Hearts-and-Flowers inlay pattern says it all. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpfulI received my banjo back in July. I waited cause I wanted to have time to really check it out. I'm not an expert on banjos but i play several instruments and i only buy the best quality. This is a beautiful and great sounding banjo. I feel this banjo will be playable in most any type music. Especially bluegrass and gospel. You should never trust the factory setups. That was my concern so Ross personally sent the banjo to Mr. Weber for the setup. (since then he uses him on all the setups) YOU will not get a better setup any place. I feel you will be making a mistake if you buy a banjo from anyone other than Ross. He was very patient with me. We talked several times in a period of months before i decided to buy. I told told him what i wanted and I didn't know about banjos. I named several models. He gave me the pros and cons. He never pushed for a sell. You will not find a more honest person and someone that really loves to see people play music. With him it's not about the sell. You get so much free material that would cost hundreds of dollars if you bought it. You will not be disappointed to do business with him nor buy this beautiful banjo.
