The Gold Tone OB-Standard was inspired by the Gibson Mastertone Earl Scruggs Model. Gold Tone has done a tremendous job of recreating both the look and sound. I played this new model at it's premier at the 2023 IBMA International Bluegrass Association Trade show. It sounded and looked great. I'm real excited about all Gold Tone is doing now. They have really raised the bar.

The Gold Tone OB-Standard is specially set up by banjo luthier, ED Weber at our shop in Tennessee. You cannot find a better banjo set-up person from any competitor out there than Ed Weber. Ed worked for Gibson banjos in Nashville for 25 years building their high end banjos. He is also an experienced custom banjo builder. He built the Gibson Earl Scruggs Models that this banjo is based on.
