Now in Production and In Stock: I received one of the first 10 produced and am getting two from the next batch. They only get about 10 a batch. These are going to be hard to keep available. As I write this I have one available but call me to be sure. 1-866-322-6567.

Notes from Ross: The banjo sounds great, I mean it, looks great too. The attention to detail is excellent. The tone was deep and throaty. It has a noticeably good bottom end, both my set up guy and I noticed that right away. Banjos are inherently bright but banjos that also have balanced tone and a strong voice on the bottom are not as easy to come by. Up the neck the notes were loud and clear too which signifies a good quality tone ring. Just because all flathead tone rings are heavy when they are created, does not mean they are all created equal. A superior tone ring is superior up the neck and a high quality tone ring like this will not lose volume and tone with a capo on.
The new Gold Star JD Crowe Model GF-100JD has been meticulously perfected over the last two years with Gold Star Banjos now unveiling this new JD Crowe model GF-100JD professional level 5-string bluegrass banjo. Gold Star has always demanded high standards since the 70's and the GF-100JD is now available for order.
Gold Star has always in my opinion made the very closest replica to the 1930's Gibson's of any imported banjo. Saga Music, the company who manufacturers Gold Star Banjos began in the 1970's and has built a very strong reputation to meticulous quality and all aspects of building a musical instrument of this caliber. There are no other imported instruments that even comes close to having the stable of professional musicians that choose to play Gold Star banjos, Kentucky Mandolins and Blue Ridge Guitars, all made by Saga. Gold Star Banjos are the only banjos not made in the USA that have increased in value over time.
Remember we are talking about a replica that cost 1/3 to 1/4 the price of an American made banjo with the same category of features and tone.
So, if you are not able to afford or not ready to buy an American Made banjo in the category, this is the best import alternative.
The other comparable banjo in this price range that I would recommend is the Recording King RK R75 or Recording King RK R76.
Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the continuing tradition.
