In 2015 Recording King discontinued the RK R80. I got a call from Recording king saying they found two brand new RK80 in the back warehouse. I bought both of them and I now have one left. It's brand new, never been played.
As far as I know I am the only one online who has a brand new RK80. Recording King made it clear it was the last of this model a couple years ago and that no more were being made.
This model is the original Recording King 5-string banjo model. It's design and look is based on the old Gibson Recording King Models from the 1930's. It features the white binding, awesome peghead and overall unique design.
Add that to the unique design and the fact that they are not making them anymore, it makes for an extra special banjo to play and could become a collectors item.
The Pot is the same as on the RK75-Elite and RK76-Elite
If you are interested give us a call to confirm we still have one.
Thanks, Ross Nickerson
